Business Ethics, Social Responsibility, and Transparency

I have one question for anyone interested in these two fields, i.e., Business Ethics and Social Responsibility. The question is: do you believe transparency should be at the core of a corporate, or organizational, commitment to an ethical/socially responsible behavior? In other words, should companies, public institutions and NGOs be more transparent about their social responsibility budgets and their investment in lobby campaigns? Do you have any good practices to share with us?
